4 years since CLIMAXED 1.0, Lilian has since come out alongside working behind the scenes at Black Acre and CLIMAXED mgmt. This is the beginning of a new name and her own artistic/creative outlet, stepping behind the booth & back into the driving seat for DOLLSTEP.
The clubnight explores trans & queer underground music with electronic aesthetics.
DOLLSTEP 1.0 gathers friends, with gyrofield celebrating the release of their latest record and debut on Objekt’s label Kapsela, Karlie Marx’s Bristol debut and Lilian’s club debut (plus secret guests).
gyrofield is transcending the drum & bass genre and the rules of electronic dance music. Their skill in the technical and narrative building elements in their productions and Djing are what initially drew me to explore more.
Listening to the samples and influences explored on last years XL EP "These Heavens" opens up a world where genres blend and time becomes something of gyrofield's making.
A relentless output over the last couple of years and with even more fantastic music on the way, I am extremely excited for gyrofield to return to Bristol for CLIMAXED and to make DOLLSTEP a reality.
Promoting the clubnight, Lilian has been deveoping some DJ mixes which transcend the traditional ‘mix’ form. Recorded and then built on top of via music DAWS with ambient layers, samples, and stems. The mixes are part of the art practice of the night, building & sharing trans narratives.
